Director, Constituent Relations (Director, Donor Relations)

The Director of Donor Relations provides the overall direction and vision for Donor Relations, which includes events and stewardship for donors and prospective donors of Penn State. The Director will lead strategic planning efforts in these areas aimed at cultivating and stewarding donors. Responsible for conceptualization and implementation of all programs and activities related to donor relations, special events, and stewardship activities. Manage the Office of Donor Relations and special events, as well as volunteer committee(s). Provide leadership to a team of 12 staff and manage all budgetary functions of the unit. Establish departmental procedures and processes as needed. Build and maintain strong relationships with development staff and other campus partners, including coordination with the Athletic Office and Office of Governmental Affairs. Provide liaison support to the Office of the President in coordination of travel, activities, and initiatives involving the University President. Provide guidance and direction to appropriate Development Officers, volunteer leadership, and Division staff in planning events. Requires Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred), plus five years of work-related experience. Successful candidate must be creative, possess outstanding communications skills, both oral and written and demonstrate a genuine appreciation of teamwork, collaboration and working with diverse audiences.
