Director of Donor Stewardship

Job Summary:
The Director of Donor Stewardship is responsible for stewardship activities. Stewardship is defined as establishing and providing oversight for all RIT donor related activities which include but are not limited to scholarship correspondence and recognition, naming opportunities and recognition gifts for donors and potential donors and gift acknowledgment process. Specific responsibilities are as follows:

  • Work collaboratively to develop and implement a comprehensive program of donor relations which includes cultivation and recognition events, and periodic progress reports to donors
  • Ensure that all gifts are properly acknowledged and stewarded
  • Coordinate the stewardship of endowed fund donors including oversight of the 400 donor-established scholarships
  • Work with identified prospects to annually support RIT
  • Work closely with the gift office to ensure memorials and tribute gifts are appropriately handled

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five to seven years of development or volunteer management experience
  • Proven event management experience
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to design, implement and evaluate programs and processes
  • Flexibility
  • Sense of humor
  • Commitment to RIT's mission

  • Experience in an academic or development environment
