In her role, Alvarado will have overall responsibility for the management of the Campaign for Global Change, the Institute’s comprehensive campaign to raise $1 billion for creating access and enhancing the student experience, attracting top talent and empowering world-changing research, and modernizing and equipping the campus for its third century. She will also lead the Institute’s regional campaign organization during the public phase of the campaign and will oversee the formation of regional campaign volunteer committees.
Alvarado most recently served as Account Supervisor for Creative Communications Associates of Troy, a full-service marketing communications and branding agency, specializing exclusively in higher education, where she coordinated and managed the implementation of full-scale branding, advertising, enrollment marketing and media campaigns for a variety of colleges and universities across the country. Her prior experience includes communications and development roles with Xerox State Healthcare, LLC, Northern Rivers Family of Services, Glens Falls Hospital, and Ellis Medicine. She served as Assistant Dean of the First-Year Experience for Rensselaer in the early 2000s.
Alvarado holds an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), and she has been a member of several organizations including Women in Development, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), American Marketing Association (AMA), International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD), and Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Committee.
Alvarado earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and a master’s degree from University at Albany.
