As a Senior Advancement Officer, Major Gifts, Mr. Babitts is responsible for cultivating and soliciting prospects capable of making gifts to Rensselaer of $100,000 to $2,500,000. Babitts will work in an assigned region where he will support campus leaders to develop and implement strategies to close gift commitments.
Upon his appointment, Babitts stated that he is “thrilled to be joining the Rensselaer advancement team at this pivotal moment in the $1B Transformative: Campaign for Global Change. Because of the significant historical impact Rensselaer has had in the world and the ambitious goals of The Rensselaer Plan 2024,” Babitts indicated that the position and the Institute allows him to support the vision, mission and campaign that attracted him.
Prior to his appointment, Babitts served as the Senior Director of Planned and Major Giving at Pratt Institute where he provided strategic leadership. He worked closely with the President, Vice President and campus leadership as related to Pratt’s campaign. His leadership expanded and enhanced the planned and major gift program that resulted in increased six and seven figure gifts.
Babitts graduated from Wagner College where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as he Masters in Business Administration. He began his advancement career at his alma mater.
